s/v Mise En Place, Dickerson 41 ketch
Lewes, DE - Chesapeake City, MD
January 29, 2008
My friend Mark Steele has been restoring a Dickerson 41 for the last few years. Mark and
his family plan to sail to Europe when they are ready. Mark, his friend, Bob Hyberg,
Michele,
and I helped him move the boat to Chesapeake City, MD on its way to the
Chesapeake Bay.

Sunrise on the Delaware Bay. Michele, Bob and Mark.

0600ish.

Captain Scott enjoying the sun on a cold January morning.

Mark, myself and Michele.

Mark trailing me as I go aloft to free a jammed halyard. We are on the C&D Canal and the
St. George's Bridge is in the background.

Once aloft I found that the eye splice in the working end of the main halyard was too thick
for the sheave. I was able to pry it out and drop the sail.

Dousing sail from aloft.
